Project Artist Description

My mission is to document emotional and psychological environments. I trained as a photographer; however, over the years, I’ve developed a multidisciplinary practice that includes photography, installation, collage, and sculpture. This transformation was inspired by my desire to bring together interests in image-making, spatiality, and spectatorship with my commitment to making space for cross-cultural dialogue. These themes continually inspire me and serve as a binding thread through all my works. I start each project with an aspect of my personal experience; then, using objects, still images and archives, form lasting statements on human nature.

My most recent work body of work, Celestial Bodies, perfectly encapsulates my commitment to this approach. This series of large-scale prints brings together photography and collage with my interests in history, environment, and social critique.  My goal in working in this way is to inspire a re-imagining of society as a more inclusive whole.
